Other Volunteer Opportunities
Thank you for Volunteering!
Office Help. We frequently need help in the office. Tasks may include the preparation of mailings, telephone calls, copying, record keeping, and/or computerized reports. Volunteer office staff may help during any days and hours when the office is open.
Technology. Anyone familiar with technology can help with our website, our databases, and generally with maintaining our office equipment and computers.
Events and Fundraising. Several times a year, we conduct fundraising and public awareness activities in Carroll County. Volunteers may contribute their expertise and time for these events.
Annual Events. The Council raises funds though a variety of special events such as the "Anyule Spelin' Be," the Non-Profit Center Yard Sale, and other activities. Volunteers are a great help for these and other activities.
Marketing and promotion. Volunteers contact area businesses and agencies for funding support. Grant writers find and write grants for the Literacy Council.
Tutor Training. Tutor trainers conduct training workshops for volunteers based on the Laubach “Each one teach one” method.
Board of Directors. Our volunteer Board is made of community members who meet monthly to advise and support the Literacy Council.
If you are interested in volunteering or have other ideas for services or fundraising, contact the Literacy Council, 410-857-0766 or lcouncil@carr.org
Thanks!
